Survey calibration

The honest way to close the gap between a model and a building.

How do I calibrate a design against a real survey?

  1. Import survey measurements (CSV, or from the mobile survey app).
  2. Run the calibration. WiFi Weave compares each measurement with the prediction at that point.
  3. Review the error: mean absolute error in dB, and the bias — whether the model is optimistic or pessimistic, and by how much.
  4. Apply the calibration. It derives a corrected path-loss exponent and an inverse-distance-weighted correction surface across the floor.

What does calibration change?

The heatmap, the coverage percentage and the exported report all use the calibrated prediction, so every number you hand the client reflects the measurements rather than the default model.

Common questions

How many measurements do I need?

Enough to cover the variety of the space rather than a single room — a spread across open areas, partitioned areas and the far corners. The calibration reports its error, so you can see when more points stop improving it.
